Next up on Think Deep we have six, yes SIX monster tracks from up and coming U.S. artist Spastik. The My Style EP brings you a smooth jazzy selection combining melodic rhodes and rhythmic breaks. This release was almost titled ‘foundations in hip-hop’ and it’s easy to hear those influences in the tracks, both in the frequent use of lyrical rhymes and phrases and the interspersion of half-time beats and breaks that hint to the infamous style synonymous with east-coast-style hip-hop. The EP has something for all liquid lovers ranging from the upbeat blue-note atmospheres in ‘Respect’ and ‘You Heard Of Us’ through to the beefier bass notes and dancefloor energy in ‘Missing You’. It’s deep, but not melancholic in any way – in fact the My Style EP is more than likely to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
